About the Client

The City of Bayswater is a local government area located within the Perth metro boundaries, just 7 kilometres from the city’s bustling central business district. Known as the “Garden City”, it is home to hundreds of native fauna and flora as well as more than 71,796 residents who rely on the City’s local government team to serve their community.

Continuously looking for innovative solutions to improve their corporate governance, the City of Bayswater adopted Doc Assembler in December 2020 as its first Harbour Software product and is in the process of onboarding with Docs on Tap.

The Challenge

In 2020, the City of Bayswater began looking for a product with greater functionality for their meeting minutes and agendas.  Their previous software package was becoming outdated and cumbersome, and the City was looking for a vendor to partner with who could provide ongoing support to their growing team.

“We were looking for a product that was more up to date, that gave us better functionality, and ongoing support from the provider.”

The Brief and Implementation

The City of Bayswater were looking for state-of-the-art software, that would create greater efficiency for their corporate governance function.  This included:

  • Collaboration between multiple authors in real time
  • Manage workflow process for multiple approvers
  • Workflow capability processes
  • Ongoing support services
  • Full remote access

Meeting documents can be assembled quickly and more efficiently thanks to Doc Assembler’s accessibility and collaboration features.

Moreover, any device can be used to run the user-friendly, intuitive governance agenda software with its cloud delivery. This is especially helpful to modern organisations such as the City of Bayswater, allowing for remote working and enhanced capabilities without any access issues.

Harbour Software commenced training with the City of Bayswater in December 2020 prior to launching to onboard the team onto their new software and have the knowledge and capabilities to hit the ground running post-launch.

“Our training was very helpful and straight forward. The Harbour Software team translated the tech very simply, making it easy for new users and supporting us in making that organisational change.”

The Outcome

Since embarking on their digital transformation journey with Doc Assembler, the City of Bayswater have experienced major improvements in their operational efficiency.

“One of the best things about Doc Assembler is your ability to collaborate. It’s really great when you have several people working on one report and has built-in functions for accountability purposes. It also has a workflow capability that we didn’t have previously for sending reports for approval.”

“Because it is cloud based, everything is conveniently done within the system. You can access it from anywhere. This is especially helpful for staff working remotely, whether at home or within the community.”
